UAE - ABU DHABI DAY AT THE SŁUŻEWIEC RACE COURSE IN WARSAW
AHCII chairman, Łukasz Łuniewski - Lucas Lunevsky handed over the prizes for the race under AHCII patronage. UAE Abu Dhabi day at the Warsaw Racecource. HH Sheikh Mansoor Al Nahyan Global Festival.
On Sunday (20 August) the Warsaw Race Course at Służewiec hosted a festival of Arabian horse lovers. We could watch the rivalry between Arabian horses in as many as nine races. The footing unfortunately was far from ideal, heavy rain made the ground too soft, even puddles could be seen in places.
The first race of the day, for 3 year old pure bred Arabians, was for the Amael Prize. Our AHCII Institute was the sponsor of the race. The cup was presented by the President of the Management Board, Łukasz Łuniewski, and was given to the bay stallion Medium (Nicolas – Mercedes/Sarmata) bred and owned by A. Wójtowicz. The stallion, trained by Piotr Piątkowski, was ridden by jockey A. Reznikow.

The most important race of the day was of course the Europe Prize, an international race for 4 year old and older horses. 6 contestants were entered. Unfortunately the five year old Metrag (Amer – Massamarie/Tidjani) representing the Al Shaqab Racing stables did not start. As such only Polish owned horses competed in the race. Shannon Queen (Ainhoa St. Faust – Sasanka Fata/Sam Tiki), ridden by Alekzander Reznikov, recorded a beautiful victory. The mare was bred by Magdalena and Daniel Gromala and is trained by Janusz Kozłowski. Shannon Queen proved that even such poor conditions are no obstacle for her victory. It is to be remembered that already as a three year old the mare won six races, including the Comparative one, with older horses. She also won in the races for the Kabaret Prize, Janów and Derby. The second on the finish line after a fierce fight was Shahad Athbah (Amer – Kolver / Vert Olive) ridden by S. Vasyutov, owned by SK Janów Podlaski.
Sunday was also the third day of the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival which was taking place at the same time. We spent the first two days, Friday and Saturday (18-19 August) in Nowe Wrońska, where the beauty contest was being held on the competition ring, while the third day saw the race for the Al Khalediah Poland Cup. This is an international race for pure bred four year old and older horses. Among the 8 starters the first on the finish line, well ahead of the others, was the stallion SS Mothil ( Nizam – Boundless / Calin du Loup) owned by SK Janów Podlaski, ridden by S. Vasyutov. He left the French gelding Ouzbeks du Panjshir (Darweesh – Farah du Panjshir / Dormane) two lengths behind. The cups were presented by Prince Fahad bin Khaled bin Sultan Al Saud.
The Polska AKF stud also had a reason to celebrate. Fazza Al Khalediah (Jalnar Al Khalidiah – Assma Al Khalediah/Amer), ridden by Natalia Hendzel, won the Białka Prize by six lengths! The stallion is trained by M. Borkowski.
In the race for the Sabellina Prize the mare Wielka Dalena (Via Verdi Kossack – Wielka Dama/ El Amor), trained by Adam Wyrzyk and ridden by M.Abik, was quite a surprise, beating very strong rivals. She beat Arwa (Munjiz – Amina /Murat-Gazon), Twilight (Murhib – Tamojnia/ Madiar) and Gusa (Murhib – Gusmania / Status). Wielka Dalena was bred and is owned by Krzysztof Zakolski.
