25th ARABIAN JUNIOR SPRING HORSE SHOW IN BIAŁKA
Bambina and Pointa
The time has come at last, the curtain went up on the season of shows, meetings and exciting competitions, so long awaited by Arabian horse lovers. It aIl started at the show ring in Białka, in fantastic weather. The main role in the spectacle certainly belonged to the Janów Podlaski Stud, which ultimately left Białka with three gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Horses from the Michałów stud won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal in addition to the Best in Show title. Two Top Five titles were awarded to the Białka Stallion Depot.
The 25th Arabian Junior Spring Horse Show in Białka, for yearling, two and three year old colts and fillies took place on June 6th and 7th. It was an exceptional event, the 25th jubilee, and abounded in interesting developments.
Saturday – the colts’ competition
Paris
The Saturday contests between yearling colts began with the entrance of the descendant of Kahil, Paris, from Janów Podlaski (Kahil Al Shaqab – Palmeta/Ecaho). The grey colt, which immediately warmed the audience’s hearts, scored 92.33 points and won class A of yearling colts. The runner up was a descendant of Equator, Kwarc (Equator – Kasjopeja/Eldon) bred in Michałów, with a score of 91.83. points.
The descendants of Kahil once again proved to be the leaders in class B. The first place was awarded to El Pais (Kahil Al Shaqab - El Fatha / Entyk) with a score of 92.67, and the second to Perkun (Kahil Al Shaqab – Penta/ Ecaho), with 92.33 points.
El Pais
In class A of two year old colts the most noteworthy contestant was no doubt Calateon (Vitorio TO – Calatea/Ekstern), raised by Mr Marek Kondrasiuk. With a score of 92.17 he easily took the first place. The second and third went to the offspring of Shanghaia EA, that is Genetrix (Shanghai E.A. – Gwarka/ Monogramm) and Colinero (Shanghai E.A. – Calineczka/ Metropolis NA) respectively.
Calateon
In class B there was no doubt from the beginning which horse will lead the stake. Michałów’s Morion (Kahil Al Shaqab – Mesalina/Ekstern) was given 3x20 for type, 2x20 for head and neck, as well as very high scores for movement, 3x19.5, which gave a total of 94.00 points. The second place went to Pitawal (Kahil Al Shaqab – Pepita/Ekstern) from SK Janów Podlaski.

In the three year old colts’ class the rivalry between the grey Eternis (Bint Matis – Eksterna/Ekstern), bred by Falborek Arabians owned by Mohamed Roumini, and the chestnut Eurogranat OZ (Ajman Moniscione – Ekspiacja/Emigrant) bred by Ofer Meiri & Yitzhak Dror and owned by Y. Dror, O. Meiri, SO Białka, was a very even fight. The judges awarded the same number of points to both colts, 91.33. Ultimately however, Eternis proved to be the winner.

There is only one queen - Bambina!
The time finally came for the fillies’ classes, much awaited by all. In class A of yearling fillies the Michałów bred Pontia (Equator – Polonica/Ekstern) was absolutely delightful, winning two „20-ties” for type and head and neck, and a total of 93.33 points. The runner up was the equally beautiful Adelita (Kahil Al Shaqab - Altamira / Ekstern) from Janów, with a score of 93.00 points, including high scores for type, head and neck and movement.
Pontia
In class B the first place was given to Michałów’s Foggita (El Omari – Foggia/Gazal A Shaqab), which was given 92.50 points, the second place going to another Michałów filly, the grey El Medonia (Shanghai EA – El Medina/Gazal Al Shaqab) with a score of 91.83. Another noteworthy contestant was a filly with the graceful name Wieża Radości [Tower of Joy] (Psytadel – Wieża Milczenia/Ganges) bred by Mr and Mrs Józef and Małgorzata Pietrzak, which was given the third place.
Foggita
In class C all the fillies were evidently overshadowed by the energetic, Janów bred Bambina (Kahil Al Shaqab – Bellisa/Poganin), which was unequalled and won a series of „20-ties”, for type and movement and very high scores for head and neck, giving an impressive total score of 94.67 points. The runner up was the equally spectacular Empuza (Kahil Al Shaqab – Eulerta/ Ganges), also bred in Janów, which won a score of 94.00 points including „20-ties” for type and movement. The Michałów bred filly El Larinera (Empire – El Emeera/Ekstern), also had a great day and won the third place with a score of 93.67 points, with „20-ties” for type and head and neck.

Sunday – the winners!
The winner of the Sunday contest in class A of two year old fillies was the last year’s winner of yearling fillies, Galerida (Shanghai EA – Galilea/Laheeb), winning 92.17 points. The same score and the second place was awarded to Cedora (Kahil Al Shaqab – Cenoza/Ekstern) from SK Janów Podlaski, and the third, with a score of 91.17 points, went to Begonia (Kahil Al Shaqab – Bohema/Ekstern), bred and owned by PPH Parys. In class B the unchallenged star was Janów’s Al Jazeera (Kahil Al Shaqab - Alhasa /Ganges), whose movement is an absolute show piece. The runner up was Białka’s Perforia (Vitorio TO - Perfirka /Gazal Al Shaqab) with a score of 92.83 including one „20” for movement.
Galerida
In the three year old fillies’ class the winner was the grey Wersa (Ekstern – Wasa/WH Justice) bred and owned by Falborek Arabians, who obtained a total score of 92.67 points including one „20” for type and movement. The runner up was Michałów’s Emandorissa (Abha Qatar – Emanda/Ecaho), the judges awarding her a score of 92.33.
Championships are always very exciting. This time however, there was no surprise. In the yearling colt category the gold went to Paris, while Bambina became the champion of yearling fillies. Morion triumphed as the champion of junior colts and Al Jazeera as the champion of junior fillies. There is no doubt that Morion now has his „five minutes” and the title of Best in Show could only be granted to him.
Morion
As a general comment, the offspring of Kahil Al Shaqab dictated the terms also this year, and let us hope this is a good omen. Experience has shown that Białka is often the place where stars of international format frequently embark on their career.
