NATIONS’ CUP IN AACHEN

We bring wonderful news straight from Aachen -  the Nations’ Cup and the Breeders’ Cup are once again in Polish hands!  The XXXIII Nations’ Cup took place during the last weekend of September (25 – 27.09) in the Albert-Vahle-Halle. The Polish team, totally reliable as usual, guaranteed a great deal of emotions also this time. The prize in the Breeders’ Cup, The Major T.W.I. Hedley Memorial Trophy, was awarded to Poland for the sixth time, while the prize in the Nations’ Cup, The Lady Harmsworth Blunt Memorial Trophy, for the ninth.

The show started on Friday, with the performance of two year old fillies. There was no Polish representative in Class A. The highest scores (92.57 pts) were awarded to Elle Flamenca (Ajman Moniscione – Allamara MA/Marwan Al Shaqab) reoresenting United Arab Emirates. In Class B we kept our fingers crossed for four fillies: Janów’s Al Jazeera (Kahil Al Shaqab – Alhasa/Ganges) which obtained a spectacular 3x20 for movement and went straight to the top with a total score of 92.92 pts. She was closely followed by Michałów’s Pustynia Kahila (Kahil Al Shaqab – Pustynna Malwa/Ekstern) with a score of 92.50. The top three were closed with another Janów bred filly, Prometida (Kahil Al Shaqab – Panonia/Eukaliptus), which was given 90.83 pts. Orla Turnia  (Shanghai EA – Orlanka/Aslan) bred by StanRed Arabians and representing Qatar came sixth (90.21 pts). In the 3-year old mares class our attention was on two Polish bred mares. The secondo was Wersa (Ekstern – Wasa/WH Justice) bred by Falborek Arabians, which was ultimately placed fourth with a score of 90.97 pkts.

A similar experience was in store with two year old colts, especially our two representatives, Michałów’s Morion (Kahil Al Shaqab – Mesalina/Ekstern) and Calateonie (Vitorio TO – Calatea/Ekstern) of Mr Marek Kondrasiuk. Competition was tough, the colts had to beat nine rivals. However, Morion knows how to win and was placed first with a score of 92.78 pts. Calateon was ultimately placed foruth with 91.18 pts.
