INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW IN DUBAI - INTERNATIONAL ARABIAN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP

The international Dubai horse show, Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, took place in the United Arab Emirates for the twelfth time. The show lasted for three days (19 – 21.03). All classes were judged by a seven member Jury, composed of: Abdel Raouf Abbas – Egypt, Urs Aeschbacher – Switzerland, Claudia Darius – Germany, Joanne Lowe – United Kingdom, Maria Helena Ribeiro Perroy – Brazil, Francesco Santoro – Italy, Irina Stigler – Russia, Marianne Tengstedt – Denmark, Marek Trela – Poland, Marc Veray – France.

On the first day the contestants for the podium were mainly race and endurance horses. As in the saying that fortune’s wheel is never stopped, this time the results were hardly surprising. They were nearly the same as last year, and as many as seven of the eight places were awarded to horses which triumphed in last year’s show. The only exception was the racing stallion JJ Carismatico (JJ Senor Magnum (AR) - Leenne NA (BR)/ Ponomarev (US)).

On the same day Polish bred horses were represented in the classes for mares: the grey Camilia (Piaff (PL) - Calineczka (PL)/ Metropolis NA (US)) bred by SO Białka, El Saghira (Galba (DE)- Emira (PL)/Laheeb (IL)) bred and raised in Michałów, and the bay Primera (Eden C (US) - Preria (PL)/Ararat (PL)) bred in Janów and Perfinka (Esparto (PL) - Perfirka (PL)/Gazal Al Shaqab (QA) bred by SO Białka, both leased by the Al Muawd Stud. Camilia won the second place in the class and El Saghira sixth.

The delightful Norma (Gazal Al Shaqab (QA) - Nina (PL)/Monogramm (US) bred by SK Michałów won in the senior mares class on Friday, obtaining 93.10 points. She was closely followed by Tehama Ballalina  (Tehama NA Sidaqa (ZW) - JJ Shai Majestic Queen (ZA)/Laddinn (US), who came second only by 0.10 points.

On the third day, Saturday, five stallions of Polish origin competed in the senior stallions class: Pero (Poganin (PL) - Perora (PL)/Eldon (PL)) and Pater (Ekstern (PL) - Papusza (PL)/Ararat (PL)) from Janów, Celsjusz (Ekstern (PL) - Carina (PL)/ Pesal (PL)) and the bay Peron (Esparto (PL) - Perolia (PL)/Gazal Al Shaqab (QA) from Białka, and Michałów bred Drabanat (Gazal Al Shaqab (QA) - Demona (PL)/Monogramm (US). In the 7-9 years old stallions class Pero was fourth, the same place but in the 10-years old and older stallions class went to Celsjusz. Drabanat came sixth in the same class.

The finals were also held on Saturday. Detailed results of the championships are presented below.
