PARIS 2018 - THE PLATINUM EMANDORIA AND GOLDEN EQUATOR

2018-11-28

Emandoria

Michałów’s Emandoria (Gazal Al Shaqab - Emanda / Ecaho) was honoured with the title of the Platinum World Champion at this year's Arabian Horse World Championship in Paris! A gold medal was also won by Equator (QR Marc - Ekliptyka / Ekstern) – a stallion also bred in Michałów. Equator had left Paris with a silver medal three times before but this time he fought till the end and won with the show’s highest score of 93.67 points, including 4 x 20 for the type and the same score for the movement. A nice surprise were the "20s" awarded for the movement to Janów's Potentilla (Ekstern - Panonia / Eukaliptus). Thus, Janów's ward won the award for the best movement.

MEDITERRANEAN & ARAB COUNTRIES ARABIAN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP, MENTON 2018

2018-06-29

This year's Mediterranean & Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championship in Menton (23 - 24.06) was not really kind to horses representing the Polish breeding. Great hopes resting on  Michałów's horses: Pustynia Kahila (Kahil Al Shaqab – Pustynna Malwa/Ekstern) and Equator (QR Marc – Ekliptyka/Ekstern) were not enough. Even though they did quite well in their Classes - they ranked second, they did not win any medals in the finals. The Michałów’s graduate won the second place in the 4-6 year old Mares Class with a total of 92.63 points. It seemed that the place on the podium was guaranteed, however, we had to console ourselves "only"  with the title of the Best European Horse. Moreover, Equator received 92.75 points in the Stallions 8 year old and above Class, including 5 x 20 for movement! Finally, he left Menton with the prize for the best movement - Trophy Pegasus Best Movement.

JULIA CRYSTAL GLASS FACTORY IN PIECHOWICE – CRYSTAL WORKS OF ART

2017-11-14

The walls of the Julia crystal glass factory of Piechowice are marked with fine tradition and 200 years of history. The factory is now the only surviving relic of great traditions of glass-making in this part of the Karkonosze mountains and the only living monument of the Josephine Glassworks situated within old walls of Fritz Heckert’s glass factory. Thanks to their exceptional value, crystal products manufactured here are highly recognised for instance in the USA and Saudi Arabia. Let us then take a closer look at them.

Sad news have reached us from Michałów. Wachlarz (Arbil - Warsowia/Tallin), bred by SK Michałów, , passed away at the age 27. He was a sire with great merit for Polish breeding, a representative of one of the oldest Polish blood lines, of the stallion Krzyżyk or.ar. Before being accepted for breeding he successfully passed the performance test at the race track. At present his son, the stallion Forman out of Formia by Gazal Al Shaqab, occupies the leading sire’s stall in the Michałów stud.

UAE - ABU DHABI DAY AT THE SŁUŻEWIEC RACE COURSE IN WARSAW

2017-08-24

On Sunday (20 August) the Warsaw Race Course at Służewiec hosted a festival of Arabian horse lovers. We could watch the rivalry between Arabian horses in as many as nine races. The footing unfortunately was far from ideal, heavy rain made the ground too soft, even puddles could be seen in places. The first race of the day, for 3 year old pure bred Arabians, was for the Amael Prize. Our AHCII Institute was the sponsor of the race. The cup was presented by the President of the Management Board, Łukasz Łuniewski, and was given to the bay stallion Medium (Nicolas – Mercedes/Sarmata) bred and owned by A. Wójtowicz. The stallion, trained by Piotr Piątkowski, was ridden by jockey A. Reznikow. The most important race of the day was of course the Europe Prize, an international race for 4 year old and older horses. 6 contestants were entered.

EUROPEAN ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL 2017

2017-08-23

The fourth edition of the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival in Nowe Wrońska took place on 18 – 20 August. From its first edition the show enjoys a great deal of interest, the same being true this year with 91 horses appearing in the ring. The show’s popularity is no doubt a result of the unceasing efforts of the organizers, who are „bending over backwards” to satisfy even the most discerning visitors. As every year, this year they also prepared something new. The change was in the prizes. Cars, previously given to the Championship winners, were now replaced by cash. Thus gold medalists received PLN 30 thousand, silver medalists PLN 20 thousand and bronze medalists PLN 10 thousand. The horses placed among the first five in the class were awarded PLN 4 thousand each. This prize system reduced the differences between the medalists, which were quite considerable during the previous editions of the show. The total prize money, including the Sunday race, was PLN 683 500.  During the three previous editions of the Festival we were spoilt by beautiful weather, which never left Nowe Wrońska during the show. This year however it proved much more fickle. The Friday classes took place under relatively favourable skies, while Sunday was a real race against rain, with the program being slightly altered to avoid the downpour, which nonetheless proved unavoidable. The Michałów Stud had the most reasons for celebration, its horses winning two gold medals and one silver and bronze each, as well as the unanimous verdict of Best in Show. Four gold medals, five silver and five bronze went to private breeders from Poland and abroad. The golden sponsor, for the fourth time and from the beginning of the Festival, was our Institute, the Arabian Horse Culture International Institute AHCII.  We also sponsored the 7 years old and older mares class. Our partners, Huta Julia, the law firm DKK Dziedzic, Kowalski, Kornasiewicz and Partners and the Rad-Pol furniture company were among the silver sponsors.

SMALL SURPRISES AND GREAT REASONS FOR JOY – ARABIAN JUNIOR SPRING SHOW IN BIAŁKA

2017-06-07

The show season in Poland is to be considered begun. For many years the Junior Show in Białka has been the forerunner of the approaching season. Białka is the first opportunity for breeders to get together and compete, to draw conclusions and verify whether the raised horses will join the „top trendy” group. This is where young horses have their début and the first stars, which we then see on the red carpet in Paris for instance, are born. The greatest winners of this year’s show are the Michałów Stud and the Suweco Stud. The owner, Nina Suskevicova, will certainly remember the show. In the 11 classes held horses from Michałów won 7 victories, while Janów and Białka only one each. Two class wins went to horses from private studs. The Sunday championships brought more triumph for Michałów horses, as well as an astonishing turn of events. The Ground Jury, composed of Marc Veray from France, Christine Jamar-Demeersseman from Belgium, Gideon Reisel from Holland and Tomasz Tarczyński from Poland judged 112 horses. Scores above 90.00 points were awarded to as many as 50 horses. The highest awarded score was 94.17 points, which was given to a state stud mare.

INAUGURATION OF THE NEW RACING SEASON AT SŁUŻEWIEC ON SUNDAY

2017-04-20

This Sunday, 23 April, at 14.00, the new 73rd season will be inaugurated, and this year it will last until 19 November. On the first day 8 races will take place, for which 64 horses have been entered. Traditionally before the first race the famous „Ruuuszyły…” [„And off they go…..”] will be heard, and the spectators will hear the evergreen hit by Jarema Stempowski, „Bomba w górę”. After that the spectators’ attention will concentrate only on the main actors of the show, that is the horses and the jockeys riding them. After the winter break the enthusiasts of this royal sport will have full 54 emotional racing days in front of them at the Warsaw race course, Służewiec. A total of 452 races have been planned for 2017: 268 races for thoroughbreds, 163 for Arabians and 20 for French trotters. The total prize money will slightly exceed PLN 8 million. The most interesting events of the 2017 season will certainly be the Opening (23 April), Ruler’s Prize (21 May), Derby Gala (2 July), Lira/Oaks Prize (30 July), the Arabian Day (20 August), St. Leger (28 August) and Wielka Warszawska [Warsaw Grand Prix] (24 September).

GOLD FUERTE AND SILVER NORMA AT THE INTERNATIONAL SHOW IN DUBAJU DIAHC

2017-03-21

Polish horses put up a great performance at the International Horse Show in Dubai (DIAHC) on 16 – 18 March 2017. Horses bred both by state as well as private studs firmly marked their presence. The most prominent winner was the stallion Fuerte (Shanghai EA - Frymuszka/Ekstern) bred by Jan Dobrzyński and owned by Sami Ben Saad, who won the gold medal in the Junior Stallions’ Championship. In his class of 3-year old stallions Fuerte came first with a score of 93.10 points. Another medal, silver this time, was awarded to Michałów’s Norma (Gazal Al Shaqab - Nina/Monogramm), who thus became the Vice-Champion of Senior Mares. The title of Champion was granted to FT Shaella ( Shael Dream Desert - Soul Pretty TGS) owned by the Dubai Arabian Horse Stud. Norma actually won in the 10-year old mares’ class but did not manage to keep the position in the ultimate contest. Another mare raised in Michałów also competed in this class, Pistoria (Gazal Al Shaqab – Palmira/Monogramm), who finally came fourth. In the 4 – 6 year olds mares’ class the fourth place was also awarded to Clarissima (Esparto – Calineczka/ Metropolis NA) bred by Marek Kondrasiuk. The fifth place in the 10 year old stallions’ class was given to the Michałów-bred stallion Drabant (Gazal Al Shaqab – Demona/Monogramm).
